Contending for Children Initiative (CFCI) is a faith-based program of In The Word Ministries, a 501C3 organization, designed to recapture the hearts of our children for the Kingdom of God.
The focus of this initiative is to:
*Raise the awareness of the reading literacy and mental health crisis within the faith community.
*Help congregations understand the crisis and the future impact illiteracy and mental health issues will have on our families and communities.
*Find ways the faith community, can effectively address reading deficiencies, i.e., tutoring, mentoring, accessing community resource
As a community, we can continue using traditional methods and approaches to address the needs of our children or we can create new partnerships and approaches that redirect our children to “healthier outcomes”. Contending for Children Initiative is about identifying healthier outcomes.
